The client came to us with a stripped two-storey apartment in a former office building of the Amsterdam Fire Department. With ceiling heights of 4m20 and 3m70, there was enough space to create an extra floor in-between. Entering from the central corridor, a 10m high continuous staircase connects all three floors and even the roof terrace via a skylight.
All the bedrooms and bathrooms are placed above each other on the north side of the apartment, leaving a spacious and light-filled living space on the south side, connected to the balcony.
